As the industry’s annual awards events begin to return to in-person occasions it’s been fantastic to mingle with the great and the good of the property finance sector once again. Zoom and Teams have certainly served their purpose and are well and good - in fact we’ve got very used to doing business and building relationships virtually. But there really is little substitute for being face to face where business socialising is concerned and so we’re glad to be back!
One of the major gatherings in the awards calendar are the Moneyfacts Awards. Moneyfacts are the leading provider of retail financial product data and their accolades are impartial and widely trusted.
Octane Capital’s team were delighted to attend this year's renewed event on 28th April at Batttersea’s Evolution London, orchestrated with all the glitz and glamour of an Oscar type ceremony, although thankfully without quite the drama of Rock vs Smith, but nonetheless hosted by celebrity in the form of comedian Rob Beckett. There were even dodgems.
There were a total of 39 awards announced including Best Business Bank, Best Business Card Provider and Best Bridging Finance Introducer and many of the winners were notable names including Santander, HSBC, TSB and Close Brothers.
And so we were delighted to be amongst the winners but in particular because of the award itself. Octane’s approach is bespoke. We are a 3rd generation lender that works with brokers one to one to get deals done even when complex scenarios prevail and often when several of the deal’s features do not ‘fit’ a traditional underwriting approach. This means that we are far more hands on than other specialist lenders and service becomes key. To be recognised as such is vital to our offering and to our entire ethos.
Therefore winning the award for delivering the Best Service from a Specialist Buy-to-Let Provider across an industry of so many competitors, is an honour indeed. It is a privilege and a validation that we are immensely proud of.
