Octane Capital has appointed Lee Warne and John Smith as BDMs, and Darren Pointer as an internal BDM.

Lee and John will be responsible for managing face-to-face relationships with brokers — their appointment brings the total number of Octane’s external BDMs up to seven.

Meanwhile, Darren will work alongside fellow internal BDM Mike Allen, and will be responsible for offering phone-based broker support.

Lee joins the lender from Shawbrook Bank — where he previously managed the internal broker support desk for close to eight years — while John joins from West One, where he was a senior regional account manager. 

Prior to his new role at Octane, Darren worked as a broker support manager at Brilliant Solutions.

Commenting on his appointment, John said: “Octane has a superb product range and reputation — I’m looking forward to spreading the proposition to our intermediary partners.”

Lee added: “It’s brilliant to see what the company has achieved in such a short space of time, and I’m delighted to be a part of the next phase of growth.”

Richard Deacon, managing director of sales at Octane, said the firm was delighted to welcome Lee, John and Darren to the team.

“Each of them holds substantive experience in the specialist lending space and will be able to add value immediately,” he continued.

“We have an ambitious target of doubling our loan book in the next three years, and these new additions will help to drive us towards that.

“With the sales team now into double figures, we are relishing what the future holds.”
